The test of any Image-setter and RIP is how well it converts scanned data into 4 colour images. By ensuring accurate screen angles and combining high addressability with optimal laser spot size our Purup Magnum Imagesetter produces high quality colour separations every time with perfect registration and guaranteed repeatability.
Incorporating a resolution range of 1270, 2540, 3175, 3969, 5080 dpi, combined with the most advanced screening technology available - Harlequin Precision Screening - with screen rulings from 37 to 381 lpi.
Screening
In addition to standard screens, the Magnum also provides second generation FM Screening which can assist in eliminating moire as there are no conflicting screen patterns, this can be particularly useful where delicate images of textiles are in use; coupled with Dual Screening technology which makes it possible to specify two different screening systems for one job, one screening system for contone imaging and another for graphics.
Imposition.
Completed pages can be digitally imposed through the use of PREPS Imposition software, to printers specifications from custom designed templates, last minute changes to individual pages can still be made without affecting the imposition.
The templates are saved in client folders and can be used for repeat jobs. Digitally imposed files are accurate with guaranteed repeatability with no manual intervention required which provides a cost effective solution to multiple page publications.
Drum Scanning
Scanning from prints or transparencies.
 Using our ICG Drum Scanner, we can generate high quality pin sharp scans, all transparencies are oil mounted to overcome any imperfection in the emulsion.
Low resolution files can be sent to you by ISDN or on CD for placement to the size and crop determined by you
.
These files are automatically replaced by the high resolution files stored on our server when outputting the films, incorporating the exact sizing, cropping and rotation that you have made in your DTP programme.
Alternatively, we can scan your originals and place them to your specifications in the DTP files supplied by you.
Flatbed Scanning
For original flat artwork and paintings we use the acclaimed Scitex Jazz flatbed scanner. With excellent colour controls and pin sharp reproduction, the finished quality can match that of the drum scanner.
Line art, paste ups, oils, water colours, pastels, the results are stunning and true to the original. This is one of the few Flatbed scanners that can really reproduce top quality scans.
